Colombian power babe, Lao Ra, shares video to the lastest single “Bang Boom”. Song about strength and skills of adaptation.

Before she added a couple of letters, ‘Bang Boom’ – Lao Ra’s new war-cry of a single – started life as a song about bamboo. “Bamboo might not look powerful, but it’s stronger than steel,” reports the Colombian, London-based singer songwriter. “It might bend, but it won’t break.”

The other thing about bamboo is that once it’s taken root, it’s pretty much unstoppable – an apt ambition for Lao Ra, who uses the phrase “girl power in the jungle” to explain her music’s multi sensory, collage-feel (which variously takes in Colombia’s cultural climate and carnivalesque beats to the strong female icons – from Debbie Harry and Madonna to MIA and Gwen Stefani – she idolised whilst growing up).
